PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS CIT DSMA IN SUMMER SCHOOL UNDER THE ERASMUS + BIOART PROJECT

From August 30 to September 3, third-year students of CIT Nikita Malinovsky, Vladislav Altukhov and Alexei Dudnik took part in a summer school and competition as part of international student teams under the Erasmus + BioArt project. As mentors and technical specialists-consultants on the tasks of the competition, the event was also attended by the head of the CIT department, Ph.D. Oleksandr Tarasov and assistants of the CIT department: Andriy Kovalenko, Oleksandr Kasyanyuk and Mykita Eremin. The member of the international jury was Ph.D., prof. Alexey Sheremet.

The purpose of this summer school is to provide students with knowledge and skills in the field of designing artificial implants and biomedical devices. In addition to technical knowledge, special attention was paid to other skills that provide career benefits or can be a starting point for possible future entrepreneurship.

In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, the student competition was held online. Our students worked together with students from Austria, Belgium, Israel, Poland, Spain and Ukraine, which gave them the opportunity to gain experience working in international teams. In total, 39 students and 27 mentors from 12 higher education institutions from Ukraine (4 HEIs), the European Union (4 HEIs) and Israel (2 HEIs) took part in the summer school.

In addition to solving problems, students listened to lectures on how to properly develop a business plan for their decision, what to use technical capabilities for this; on the prospects for the development of Industry 4.0 and the challenges of the era of smart technologies and vision for the development of embedded systems; how to build a three-dimensional model from photographs and what software to use for this purpose, as well as had the opportunity to watch video lectures on programming in Python, recorded in our HEIs.

Each participant at the meeting of the department was solemnly awarded certificates of completion of the summer school. All students participating in the competition from Ukraine were sent for a week to scientific organizations in Kharkiv. During the excursion, students visited the Institute of Pathology of the Spine and Joints. Sytenko National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Single Crystals, Institute of Heat-Resistant Materials and University named after Karazina. In addition, the company QuartSoft, with which the department cooperates within the public union "IT Donetsk", also honored the participants of the summer school and awarded them valuable prizes.
